This blog is dedicated to the varied interests of lifelong learners, from little-known local histories, to literary connections, to slow travel, to the quest for the perfect local foods. I am an American high school teacher but I have passions that go beyond the classroom and beyond my content area (Foreign/World Languages). I want to share those passions with other teachers, students, arm-chair travelers, slow travel explorers, foodies, trivia buffs, and anyone else who finds these topics interesting. New posts will arrive weekly, every Sunday morning. If you find this site interesting, please subscribe to this blog by entering your email address on the home page!
The site title has an ellipsis (the three dots: An American Teacher…) because each post’s titles is meant to be a continuation of the site title (that is, the site title is the subject of the title). So, the post about the quest for the perfect Massachusetts lobster roll should ideally be read as follows: An American Teacher In Search of the Perfect Lobster Roll.
I am hoping to blog successfully over the next year and to host guest bloggers (fellow teachers, whether by profession or avocation). I hope many of you, dear readers, find this site interesting enough to subscribe yourself, and to tell your friends about. I hope to expand from the blog to a You Tube channel and possibly to a podcast. I hope to provide merch as well! Please join me in this exploration of our world and of the world of blogging!
